The end!

Wrapping up this blog. We had a great time and an interesting little adventure. I would strongly recommend Google Maps and Yelp for the tech savvy. They turned out to be very reliable.

Also, I would suggest more research for those looking to do the same. Vicky and I could have easily skipped over a few places *cough* oklahoma city *cough* and we regret not seeing niagara falls :(

Deeper into the woods we go...

Vicky and I noticed the density and the heights of the trees growing larger as we headed Eastward. It's a nice change in landscape.

Here is today's journey

We ended up in Jamestown, NY for the night. We'll probably hit MA tomorrow!

Listening to amazing music.. .

Has made this trip entirely incredible!! Thank goodness for KROQ! Hip Hop, 80's, spanish guitar, alternative, REGGAE, & many other genres that have touched our trip

Good brew. .

. . . & Great crew! Hooray for good people, conversation & delicious Beer!!

Chillin in Madison Ohio

Vicky and I made friends with Roy, the owner of The Corner Stone Brewery in Madison, OH. He and his venue were awesome! Delicious food! We thank Sara for the recommendation. Here's the link to the site

Ohiooooooo

Vicky and i ate at fire house subs at the core of ohio and were not let down. Also we are seeing a climb in gas prices. 3.78! And now we continue to new york!

Thoughts so far? Vicky and I stopped at a mexican food restaurant called The Tamale Place (yelp recommend ofc) and it turned out to be more than ok! We scarfed down our food and made way through a ghetto part of Indianapolis and on our way to Columbus!

Columbus ohio!

14 hours to go!

So far the biggest dissapointment was the white castle in st louis. Damn you harold and kumar makin white castle look delicious.

I'm in love... and their name is Rob and Debbie

Oh wow such a great night tonight. Vicky and I met Debbie and Rob. Two fantastic people I could have spent all night talking too. Rob bought me a drink *wink wink* and Debbie's legs had to steal away the focus in the photo. Overall, great night, and a great way to end this tiring Tuesday. <3333

St. Louis, MO ... 20 hours to go!

It's cool how man carved out huge chunks of the thick forests and mountains which cover Missouri. The change in environment was welcoming.

Greetings from Tulsa

There was a shift from flat desert planes to rolling lush green hills. Very cool and nice to see a change of scenery.

Vicky and I ended up in El Rio Verde. Some mexican joint. We will see how it compares to californias mexican grub.

Our Route

Triple A setup the best route (even though Google contradicts it) But maybe it's related to some Triple A deals. Who knows.

The goal is St. Louis tomorrow, but we are playing it by ear. =D

Today's Adventure....

Today sorta sucked. Amarillo and Oklahoma City seemed sorta dry. Only thing that turned out cool was the discount we acquired at The Biltmore Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK. Woohoo open exercise room!

Speeding 5mph over the limit. . .

. . .equals my first warning ticket in Texas!! Followed by a deli sandwich shop reccomendation from the cop :-)

Oklahoma city...

So far this podonk town is unimpressive. Vicky and I are checking out a asian fusion restaurant called the golden phoenix. There will be an update after we stuff our faces.

Oklahoma????

Bit greener, still vast open planes.

Texas gas prices... 3.65 ...

So i guess as we keep heading into the vast emptiness gas prices keep dropping. Makes sense.

We stopped at McAlisters Deli after a recommendation from one of texas' local law enforcement. Thanks officer Wellers!

Today's Journey...

Pretty dry drive today. Fortunately, we had the Dark Tower entertaining us.

The Man in Black Fled Across the Desert, and Chris and Vicky followed.

Another Haiku

This pretty much sums up the drive today

Endless open planes
Purple bluish horizon
So much empty space

The Story so far

DAMN YELP, YOU SEXY! Courtesy of Yelp Vicky and I ended up in The Satellite Cafe in Albuquerque, New Mexico. http://www.satellitecoffee.com/ This quaint artsy coffee job was Yelp's top pick. Free wi-fi and pricey beverages mmm!

New Mexico...

Shit reminds me of the high desert.

Vicky and i yelped our way into Sammy C's Rock n' Sports pub and grill. I would recommend it for sports enthusiasts.

First hostel experience...

Made new friends! Met a few people from burning man. Pretty good experience in flagstaff. Would come again!

New Mexico. . .

Feels like Hesperia

Chris' 1st Hostel

Its a goodie, free booze & wifi:-)  De Beau Hostel gets 5*****

This was nothing like the movie hostel!

Whew!

I turn my back for 3 point 2 seconds . . .

. .and the oatmeal stout is gone! Greedy big bro move but how to get even?

Beaver street brewerly...

... Is about to get cleaned out.

Such a site!

Vicky and I stumbled upon a flourished fountain. It truly was magical.

Haiku Time!

The long drive was getting monotonous, so Vicky and I made some Haikus to fill some time.

Baren ass desert
Relentless baking sunbeams
Tired of the dirt

Binge drinking with friends
Enjoying the cool water
Big toilet of pee

So we've still got a ways to go, just taking a breather. Unfortunately, it still feels like the desert.

I have a new found love for audiobooks!! I'm listening to the movie and playing the scenes in my head . . . . .

4 hours goes by fast when your listening to a Gunslinger wiping out entire villages. . . .this guys ruthless, Stephen King . . . . thirty some odd men, a couple children and women. . . . cold blooded!! and soo intriguing at the same time! I am actually excited to get back in the car and hear more gruesome twisted stories. . . am I deranged?? Don't answer that.. . . cause we already know its true! but you are my friend so what does that make you!?!?!?

First Post! With Pics!

Look at these nerds. Future Chris is upset at Past Chris for wearing a black tshirt on the window side of the car.
